Pinealon

A three-amino-acid Khavinson 'bioregulator' aimed at the brain.

Not FDA-approvedEvidence

Overview

Pinealon is a tiny synthetic peptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) from Vladimir Khavinson's group in St. Petersburg, the same team behind Epithalon. It is promoted for memory, brain protection and sleep. Almost all research comes from that one group, mostly in cells and animals. There is no controlled human trial.

How it works

Proposed to enter cells and interact with DNA to influence gene activity, and to reduce oxidative stress in neurons. These ideas come mainly from the developers' lab and are not independently confirmed.

Evidence

The vial outlasts its ~30-day shelf life once mixed. A smaller vial wastes less.

Under 5 units is hard to measure accurately. Add more diluent for an easier draw.

Easier numbers, add this much water:

Math only: concentration (mg/mL) = vial mg ÷ mL of water; units = dose (mg) ÷ concentration × 100. Always double-check against your own vial label and a clinician. This tool does not recommend a dose.

Reconstitution

Diluent: Bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) — allows multiple draws from one vial.

  1. Wipe both vial tops with an alcohol swab and let dry.
  2. Draw the diluent, then inject it slowly down the inside wall of the vial — never straight onto the powder.
  3. Swirl gently or let it sit; do not shake. Foam can damage peptides.
  4. Solution should be clear. Cloudy, stringy or discolored = discard.
  5. Common mix: 10 mg + 5 mL = 2 mg/mL (200 mcg = 10 units).

Storage

Powder

Freezer / fridge

Keep sealed vial in the freezer (−20 °C) for long-term storage; fridge (2–8 °C) is fine for a few weeks. Keep dry and out of light.

After mixing

~30 days

Refrigerate at 2–8 °C. Never freeze after mixing. Keep upright, capped, and out of light.

Travel

Keep cool

Short trips at room temperature are generally fine for powder; keep mixed vials cold.

Side effects & cautions

Reported side effects

  • Injection-site irritation
  • Mild headache
  • Vivid dreams or sleep changes (reported)

Cautions

  • Evidence comes almost entirely from the group that created it.
  • No long-term safety data.
  • Talk to a doctor first if you have a seizure disorder or take psychiatric medication.

Often paired with

Epithalon

Both are Khavinson bioregulators and are often run in the same short course. No combined studies.

FAQ

How is it different from Epithalon?

Same research group, different peptide. Epithalon (four amino acids) is aimed at aging and the pineal gland; Pinealon (three) is pitched more at brain function. Both have thin, mostly in-house evidence.

Why short courses?

Khavinson-style protocols use brief courses of 10–20 days a few times a year rather than continuous use. That pattern comes from tradition, not head-to-head trials.

Can it be taken orally?

Oral Khavinson peptide capsules exist, and the developers claim short peptides survive digestion. That is not well proven; the vial is meant for injection.
