How we rate evidence
Every peptide page answers the same questions the same way, so you can compare them. Here is the scale we use, where the facts come from and how we keep them current. All 41 pages were last fully reviewed on October 7, 2026.
The 1–5 evidence scale
The score measures how much is known in people, not whether something works or is safe. A level-5 drug still has real side effects, and a research vial of an approved molecule is not the approved product.
5: Approved, with large trials
Regulators approved it after big randomized controlled trials (RCTs), in which people are randomly given the drug or a placebo.
4: Strong human trials
Large or multiple RCTs exist. It is not yet approved, approved outside the US, or approved only for a narrow use.
Retatrutide, Cagrilintide, Sermorelin, Melanotan I, PT-141, Thymosin Alpha-1
3: Some human data
Small or older human trials, or bigger trials with mixed or negative results.
GHK-Cu, LL-37, ARA-290, VIP, Ipamorelin, CJC-1295 (no DAC) + Ipamorelin, AOD-9604, Semax, Selank, Glutathione, Melanotan II, Kisspeptin-10
2: Mostly animal data
Most of the evidence is from animal or cell studies, with tiny or uncontrolled human reports at most.
BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, KLOW, GLOW, BPC-157 + TB-500, 5-Amino-1MQ, NAD+, DSIP, Epithalon, Pinealon, Dihexa, Selank + Semax + Pinealon spray, MOTS-c
1: Little or none
Almost no published research, or only lab studies.
Each benefit on a page is also tagged by where its evidence comes from: human data, animal, lab/cell or anecdotal (user reports).
Where the facts come from
- PubMed ↗
Peer-reviewed studies. Every peptide page links its PubMed search.
- ClinicalTrials.gov ↗
Registered human trials, including ones that never published.
- FDA ↗
Approvals, labels, safety communications and the 503A/503B compounding lists.
- Federal Register ↗
Proposed and final rules, checked weekly for each peptide.
- EMA, MHRA, Health Canada, TGA ↗
Status outside the US.
- WADA Prohibited List ↗
Whether a peptide is banned in sport, by name or by class.
Doses, prices and lab reports
Community regimens are ranges commonly reported by users and, for approved drugs, label doses. They are shown so you can see real-world use; they are not recommendations. The calculator does math only.
Prices come from Amino Club. Starting prices are checked every day from their public catalog file; per-size prices, stock and sale pricing are refreshed by hand.
Lab reports (COAs) are copied from Amino Club’s certificate library: lot, test date, lab, purity, endotoxin and sterility. See them all on Lab reports.
Keeping it current
- New PubMed papers and Federal Register notices are checked weekly for every peptide and reviewed before anything changes.
- Approval and WADA status are re-checked whenever regulators publish changes.
- Each page shows the date it was last reviewed.
