Dihexa
A small angiotensin-derived compound with striking rat memory data and no human trials.
Overview
Dihexa is a small, drug-like molecule built from a fragment of angiotensin IV at Washington State University. In rats it reversed memory deficits in Alzheimer's-type models and grew new neuron connections. It has never been tested in a published human trial. It works by boosting a growth-factor system that is also involved in cancer, which is the main reason for caution.
How it works
Binds hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and strengthens its signal through the c-Met receptor, promoting new synapses and dendritic spines. HGF/c-Met is also a well-known cancer-growth pathway.
Evidence
2/5
Animal and cell data from one main research group. No published human trials. A related HGF-boosting drug from the same lineage (fosgonimeton) missed its main goal in a Phase 2/3 Alzheimer's trial.

Reconstitution calculator
Set up for Dihexa. Switch peptide or vial size any time.
Dihexa is used by mouth, so there’s no injectable dose to work out. The math below only applies if you have your own dose.
1Mix
Add 2 mL water for 5 mg/mL
2Draw
Draw to 100 units = 1 mL = 5 mg
Drag the plunger to set your dose.
3Inject

Math only: concentration (mg/mL) = vial mg ÷ mL of water; units = dose (mg) ÷ concentration × 100. Always double-check against your own vial label and a clinician. This tool does not recommend a dose.
Reconstitution
Diluent: Bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) — allows multiple draws from one vial.
- Wipe both vial tops with an alcohol swab and let dry.
- Draw the diluent, then inject it slowly down the inside wall of the vial — never straight onto the powder.
- Swirl gently or let it sit; do not shake. Foam can damage peptides.
- Solution should be clear. Cloudy, stringy or discolored = discard.
- Dihexa is oily and dissolves poorly in water. If it stays cloudy or has particles, do not inject it.
- Common mix: 10 mg + 1 mL = 10 mg/mL (5 mg = 50 units).
Storage
Powder
Freezer / fridge
Keep sealed vial in the freezer (−20 °C) for long-term storage; fridge (2–8 °C) is fine for a few weeks. Keep dry and out of light.
After mixing
~14 days
Refrigerate at 2–8 °C. Never freeze after mixing. Keep upright, capped, and out of light.
Travel
Keep cool
Short trips at room temperature are generally fine for powder; keep mixed vials cold.
- Stability in solution is not well documented — mix small amounts.
Side effects & cautions
Reported side effects
- Headache
- Irritability or overstimulation (reported)
- Unknown — no human safety data exists
Cautions
- HGF/c-Met drives growth and spread in several cancers. Avoid with any cancer history or high cancer risk.
- Effects on synapse growth may be long-lasting; the long-term effects in people are unknown.
- Not studied in pregnancy, children, or with other medicines.
FDA & international status
Not FDA-approved
Never approved or tested in a registered human trial. It was in FDA compounding Category 2 until April 2026, when its nomination was withdrawn; an FDA advisory committee is due to review it by February 2027. Sold as a research chemical.
Regulations change often — verify with the FDA, EMA, MHRA, Health Canada, TGA and WADA before acting.

FAQ
Is it really '10 million times stronger than BDNF'?
That figure comes from one lab assay of neuron growth in a dish. It does not mean it works that way in a human brain.
Is it a peptide?
It started from a peptide fragment but was redesigned into a small, fat-soluble molecule that can cross into the brain. It behaves more like a conventional drug.
Why the cancer warning?
Dihexa works by boosting HGF/c-Met signaling. That pathway is often overactive in tumors and helps them grow and spread. No study has shown Dihexa causes cancer, but none has ruled it out.
