BPC-157 vs KPV
BPC-157 is not FDA-approved and rated 2/5 for evidence; KPV is not FDA-approved and rated 2/5. They have a similar amount of human evidence. BPC-157 is banned in sport by WADA; KPV is not. BPC-157 is listed under Recovery & Repair; KPV under Immune.
Often used together: Common gut pairing: KPV for inflammation, BPC-157 for gut-lining repair. No studies of the two together.
| Compare | BPC-157The most-discussed healing peptide, built on a stomach-protein fragment. | KPVA three-amino-acid anti-inflammatory fragment of α-MSH. |

| Category | Recovery & Repair | Immune |
| Evidence | 2/5Dozens of rodent studies; only tiny human pilot data (e.g. knee pain retrospective, IV safety pilot). | 2/5Cell and mouse colitis studies (e.g. Dalmasso 2008, Gastroenterology). No published human trials. |

| WADA (sport) | Banned | Not prohibited |
| Also known as | Body Protection Compound-157, Bepecin, PL 14736 | Lys-Pro-Val, α-MSH (11–13) |
| How it works | Appears to up-regulate growth-factor receptors (VEGFR2, growth hormone receptor), promote new blood vessel formation (angiogenesis), and modulate nitric-oxide signaling. Exact human pharmacology is not established. | Gets into gut-lining and immune cells through the PepT1 transporter and dampens the NF-κB and MAP-kinase inflammation pathways. Unlike full α-MSH, its anti-inflammatory effect in gut cells does not appear to run through melanocortin receptors, so it is not a tanning peptide. |
| Half-life | Short (hours); effects thought to be local + signaling driven | Not characterized in humans |
