A recombinant follistatin analog engineered to bind myostatin and activin.
Last reviewed Oct 27, 2026 · How we rate evidence · Report an error
FLGR-242 is a research‑only recombinant, truncated form of follistatin marketed as a myostatin inhibitor. It is designed to bind myostatin and activin, preventing them from activating the ActRII receptors that limit muscle growth. No compound‑specific human studies, safety data, or pharmacokinetic data have been published.
The peptide binds myostatin and activin, blocking their interaction with activin type‑II receptors and thereby reducing SMAD2/3 signaling that suppresses muscle protein synthesis.
